> HotHotHotSpot! is a maritime Wi-Fi roaming network with its central base of operations in Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour, Antigua. It is operated by Arnold Baird and Gay Nichols. > HotHotHotSpot! started in 2005 based out of the existing Internet Café in The Image Locker and expanded to the long range Wireless Internet out of the Dockyard covering most of English Harbour, Antigua. Its success inspired a second access point in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua. At this point it drew the attention of another Wi-Fi company which had exclusive rights to the 2.4 GHz band in Antigua and Barbuda. The government issued a Cease and Desist order, and the service had to be closed down. Because of this, the equipment was taken to Bequia to operate a system there, followed by another to Grenada. After a long and arduous battle with the Antiguan Government, we were finally granted permission to operate in Antigua again, offering Wi-Fi to the marine environment with limited radiated power and only on channels 10 and 11. This works and is generally found to be satisfactory by all. As time went on, further Access Points were installed in other islands -- see Locations. > HotHotHotSpot! has an excellent working relationship with partners in all these locations.
